First Year Counselors (FroCos)

First Year Counselors

First-Year Counselors (known as FroCos) are seniors in Branford who have been selected by the Dean and the Head of College to serve as residential counselors to our first-year students.  FroCos reside in Lawrance Hall on Old Campus and are an integral part of the advising structure in Yale College; for members of the Class of 2029, they will often be the first port of call!

In addition to serving as an advising resource, FroCos assist with ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the incoming class: our team works hard to establish a culture and environment in which all of our students have an opportunity to thrive.

Each first-year student is assigned to a FroCo, and each FroCo has a FroCo group of between 11-15 students. First years are welcome and encouraged to get to know everyone on the FroCo team, however, and to go to any FroCo with questions or concerns.
