Ushuu Namarra is a second-year BA/MPH student at the Yale School of Public Health. Originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, she recently completed her undergraduate degree in the History of Science, Medicine, and Public Health and was a proud member of Branford College (BFA)! At YSPH, she focuses on infectious diseases and is passionate about addressing health disparities. She recently completed a summer internship in Nairobi, Kenya, researching the sexual and reproductive health of refugee women.
At Yale, Ushuu has been involved in a number of undergraduate organizations and continues to volunteer with the HAVEN Free Clinic while exploring new dance styles through the Yale Salsa Society and Danceworks. In her free time, she enjoys watching music videos, baking banana bread, and playing sports. She’s excited for the year and looks forward to connecting with fellow Branford students!
